Agar memiliki kulit wajah cerah dan bersinar dibutuhkan perawatan yang tidak mudah. Terlebih bagi kita yang sering beraktivitas di luar ruangan, suka atau pun tidak paparan sinar matahari secara langsung telah berdampak pada proses penuaan kulit menjadi lebih cepat. Muka kusam, keriput, dan tak jarang muncul flex hitam di beberapa area wajah menjadikan penampilan kulit muka kurang sehat dan tampak tua.

Adalah sheet mask yang sekarang sedang trend digunakan oleh banyak kaum pecinta skin care, untuk dapat merawat kulit wajahnya agar tetap cerah dan bersinar. Selain lebih simple dan tidak memerlukan tahapan yang rumit, penggunaan sheet mask secara rutin dipercaya dapat meningkatkan elastisitas kulit, mengurangi kerutan wajah dan juga meringkaskan pori-pori kulit yang semakin membesar, seiring dengan bertambahnya usia. Bahkan menurut L. Bauman dari Department of Dermatology University of Miami salah satu penyebab utama pemicu penuaan lebih cepat pada kulit adalah pengaruh radikal bebas dan paparan langsung cahaya matahari yang berlebihan.  Oleh sebab itu, untuk mereduksi radikal bebas penggunaan masker pada kulit muka dirasakan cukup membantu menjaga kelembaban dan peremajaan kulit. 

Berikut ini adalah tiga kesalahan saat menggunakan sheet mask yaitu: 

1. Menggunakan Sheet Mask Saat Muka Kotor 

Penggunaan sheet mask saat muka kotor sesungguhnya sangat tidak disarankan. Alih-alih mendapatkan muka yang cerah dan bersinar, yang diperoleh justru muka akan timbul jerawat dan bahkan bisa bruntusan. Tentu saja karena pada saat muka kotor, penggunaan sheet mask justru akan merusak kulit dan menimbulkan peradangan atau iritasi. Selain itu, pada saat muka masih kotor, penggunaan sheet mask justru akan menyumbat pori-pori karena bercampur dengan sisa make up, debu atau kotoran yang menempel di muka. Disarankan saat menggunakan sheet mask, muka harus dibersihkan terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal. 

2. Memakai Sheet Mask Terlalu Lama 

Karena ingin mendapatkan hasil yang cepat, terkadang kita menggunakan sheet mask terlalu lama. Padahal tindakan ini tidaklah tepat karena justru akan menjadikan kulit semakin kering dan mengalami dehidrasi. Kulit yang kering dan mengalami dehidrasi sangat rentan terhadap paparan sinar matahari dan radikal bebas. Maka dari itu, jangan heran meskipun sudah menggunakan sheet mask namun belum memperoleh hasil yang optimal bisa jadi ada yang kurang tepat dalam menggunakan sheet mask. Agar lebih terasa hasilnya, usahakan untuk membaca waktu yang dibutuhkan Ketika menggunakan sheet mask. Beberapa produk sheet mask biasanya menyarankan penggunakan selama 15 – 20 menit untuk hasil maksimal. Lebih dari itu, jangan lupa untuk membaca kandungan essence atau serum pada sheet mask dan sesuaikan dengan jenis kulit kita, sehingga hasilnya lebih menggembirakan. 

3. Mencuci Muka Usai Menggunakan Sheet Mask 

Usai menggunakan sheet mask tak jarang kulit muka menjadi terasa lengket dan tidak nyaman. Karena kondisi ini, beberapa orang lantas mencuci mukanya dengan air agar rasa lengket di muka lekas hilang. Duh….padahal tindakan ini sangatlah tidak dibenarkan karena justru akan mengurangi khasiat serum yang telah melekat di kulit saat menggunakan sheet mask sebelumnya. Usahakan untuk mendiamkan beberapa saat Ketika selesai menggunakan sheet mask. Jika masih merasakan lengkat, hindari untuk mencuci muka dan berada di tempat yang terlalu lembab, untuk mengihindari efek lengket pada kulit muka yang berlebihan.
